Still Lifes with Vegetables

"Cabbage and Pepper", oil on panel, 8x8, Grand Gallery

Another recent still life with a beautiful cabbage. Who knew that a cabbage could be so beautiful?
"Vegetables and Bean Pot", oil on linen panel, 9x12

I like painting these little still lifes, especially with such ordinary subject matter. They feel down to earth and rustic like something you would find in a French market.

Very cute, I wish I could get off work to paint with you girls. Did you see Kami Polzin's little bunch of radishes painting? http://kamipolzin.blogspot.com

Hey Barb,
Yeah we are having a good time setting up and painting these still lifes. It is good practice. Not every painting is successful, but that is how it goes. I saw Kami's radishes...very nice painting.
You could set up a mini still life and paint during your lunch hour!
